Outreach days in the communities with the Ministry of Health and other organisations, and training of local health staff so that what starts with Rekko stays in the community.
What we do outside the clinic

Cervical cancer, Yepocapa
Since 2023 with Fraternidad Misericordia: training the nursing assistants of the health posts to detect and treat precancerous lesions in time. In 2025, 20 assistants trained and 678 women seen in 50 outreach days.
Well-child days, Acatenango and Patzicía
With Good Neighbors, in May and June 2025: a Rekko doctor, two volunteer doctors and a volunteer nurse saw 1,772 children in 23 communities.
Formulate and fund
Since late 2024 the programme has a project officer. In 2025 twelve proposals went to funders; five were approved for 2026.
In Yepocapa, the rate of precancerous cervical lesions found in our outreach days fell from 1.86% in 2023 to 0.73% in 2025.
